Annual Met Ball 2013 - Celebrity Fashion Fail or Win! Rate & Comment

Revelling in it: Miley Cyrus, who has just topped Maxim's Hot 100 list, clearly loved the opportunity to go punk in a fishnet dress by Marc Jacobs and spiked hair

This year the theme for the Met Ball was punk and I find it very interesting. Some celeb's really GOT it, some had no clue and some decided not to bother at all. Those that did, went for classy punk, others just did a straight forward interpretation. There were a couple that were almost too good, i.e. January Jones (kinda scary, not gonna lie) but here are my faves.

Blonde bombshells: January Jones (L) and Cara Delevingne were both seen showing off dramatic eye make-up. January displayed her legs in Chanel while Cara took the plunge in Thakoon

The eyes have it: (L-R) Jessica Pare (in Jason Wu), Emily Blunt (in Carolina Herrera) and Ginnifer Goodwin (in Tory Burch) decided that dramatic eyeshadow was the best way to be a part of the theme

A new look: Taylor Swift did her best punk impersonation in a spiderweb lacy dress by J Mendel and a pink streak in her crimped hair A new look: Taylor Swift did her best punk impersonation in a spiderweb lacy dress by J Mendel and a pink streak in her crimped hair

Going all out: Sarah Jessica Parker, in a Giles Deacon dress, Philip Treacy headpiece and Louis Vuitton boots, put all the other guests to shame with her amazing and elaborate outfit

Going for gold: (L-R) Karen Elson wore a very daring gold gown while Elizabeth Banks also took a risk in her shimmering tuxedo dress, and Giovanna Battaglia chose a regal look It's all black and white: (L-R) Gwen Stefani in Maison Martin Margiela, Leelee Sobieski and Kylie Minogue all chose two-tone dresses

Angelic: (L-R) Olivia Wilde, Hailie Steinfeld and Emmy Rossum also wore white. Hailee and Emmy both chose Donna Karan dresses Red-dy to rumble: Scarlet satin was the fabric of choice for the evening for (L-R) Emilia Clarke, Maggie Gyllenhaal in Calvin Klein and La La Anthony

Vamp it up: Donatella Versace modelled one of her own flamboyant creations
This was punk in a really raw perhaps unintended way but still, kudos.

Legs eleven: Karolina Kurkova displayed her super long legs in a printed mini dress paired with black leather stilettos featuring studded straps
Punk with heels. I would have loved some different shoes, but I see why she gave it a fashion spin.

There were some really good hair looks aswell - I didn't really GET the Anne Hathaway dress but beyond love her as a blonde)

Upgrade: The platinum shade is a welcome change from Anne's traditional brunette hue, pictured at January's Academy Awards ceremony A hint of mystery: The actress beamed in seductively smokey eyes

Top Hair 2.

Why so glum? A somber Nicki Minaj showed off a teased mass of blonde curls but donned an uncharacteristically drab dress

Jason Sudeikis, the most natural punk of the night; he just rolled up in trainers looking very zero fucks.
Nice shoes: Jason Sudeikis wore a pair of trainers with his tuxedo as he posed with his future wife Olivia Wilde at the 2013 Met Gala on Monday night

A lot of of people were slating Kim Kardashian (well non-fashion people) but I thought her dress was awesome....i wasn't exactly sure it was punk although a closer look at the detailing does show subversive punk elements going on but even without that I thought she looked beyond, and thats WITH the problems of dressing a bump. Too parfait, except for the Gloves - not necessary.
It's a match: Kim Kardashian, who has preciously been banned from the event, wore a floral dress with matching gloves and shoes as she posed up with boyfriend Kanye West

Other couples I loved:
In tune: Lily and her boyfriend Jamie Campbell Bower both wore Moschino for the event

Mummy and daddy time: Tom Sturridge and Sienna Miller enjoyed a rare break from their parenting duties as they posed on the red carpet

A tale of two couples: Designer Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee opted for zany tartan ensembles, while Jerry Seinfeld and his partner Jessica opted for more traditional attire

Red carpet ready: Claire Danes and her husband Hugh Dancy made for a cute couple as they posed together at the prestigious event

And a final celebration for those who played it subtle:

The eyes have it: (L-R) Jessica Pare (in Jason Wu), Emily Blunt (in Carolina Herrera) and Ginnifer Goodwin (in Tory Burch) decided that dramatic eyeshadow was the best way to be a part of the theme

Punk appeal: The punk rock accessory was the perfect accoutrement for her webbed black Giambattista Valli dress and matching leggings
